Man Caught On Video Scaring His Dog With Fireworks Is Facing Animal Cruelty Charges

| Published on July 7, 2016

We just celebrated 4th of July a few days ago. And before the celebration, we’ve given tips about keeping your dog safe during the said holiday. Dogs get nervous with all the noise and the fireworks. As we all know, dogs have excellent sense of hearing and their ears are very sensitive to noise. So to keep them from getting nervous, we let them stay indoors, and prepare a quiet place for them to relax and let the holiday pass.

However, the man in the video below named William Scaffidi deliberately scared his own dog with fireworks. The act was captured by his daughter on a cellphone and was posted on Facebook.

Here’s a copy of the video:

Outraged by what Scaffidi did, his neighbors and friends shared the video. It has been viewed more than a million times and has angered a lot of netizens.

Fulton County Animal Services has charged Scaffidi with animal cruelty. Scaffidi also received a lot of hate mail because of the video. He tried to explain his side to Fox 23 News saying that he didn’t know that the dog was there.

Watch the news video below for the full story.

Although his dog wasn’t harmed, you can see just how terrified she was when the fireworks exploded. She was very near the explosion and I’m pretty sure the sound hurt her ears; she was scared and that’s why she ran for her life.

The video has created outrage, but there are some who say that he wasn’t trying to harm his dog and it was all a prank.
