Organization Matches Outdoor Dogs with Those Who Love To Be Active

| Published on May 20, 2015

In their effort to Save Them ALL, Ruffwear, the leading manufacturer of high performance dog gear, has announced a two-year partnership, including financial and inkind product, as well as adoption promotions, with Best Friends Animal Society, the only national animal welfare organization dedicated exclusively to ending the killing of dogs and cats in America’s shelters.

The Ruff Adventure Dog (RAD) program matches high energy, adventurous canines with humans than can keep up. If you are looking for agility partner, hiking buddy, or even the next super-star surfing dog, he’s waiting for you to find him at Best Friends.

The amazing part? Ruff wear is covering all adoption fees and airfare expenses ($50,000) for dogs that are adopted through this program at the sanctuary. An additional $64,000 in in-kind product will ensure each adopted dog will go to his/her forever home with a new Ruffwear Hoopie™ Collar and Flat Out™ Leash.

“We are grateful to our partners at Ruffwear for helping more dogs get into forever homes,” said Eric Rayvid, public relations director, Best Friends Animal Society. “We all need to do our part to find a home for every dog we can and we’re thrilled that our partners at Ruffwear are helping to Save Them All.”

This should be a no-brainer if you are looking for an active dog. You are saving a life, supporting an amazing rescue organization, and you won’t have to pay a cent for your new best friend.

What are you waiting for?

Here are the first  dogs to be available through the RAD program.

Marla is a 7-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier who is always up for a walk, run, or hike. This doesn’t mean she isn’t a lady – Marla sits nicely for her dinner or leashing and is great in her crate. She came to the sanctuary through an animal rescue group in New Mexico. Learn more about her here.

Ollie is a two-year-old Anatolian shepherd that is just waiting for you to come and teach him anything and everything. He loves games, playing with other dogs, and is looking for a home that will give him a job. Ollie was the first dog in the program to get adopted!

August

At almost a year, August is still very much a puppy! August adores toys and will play with anything you offer him. If there’s nothing around, he’ll invent a game of his own. Sometimes he guards his toys, but his caregivers and trainers are teaching him that he doesn’t need to do that. Learn more about him here.
