Don't cry because its over, smile because it happened

Hi everyone, My name is Boycie and I just turned 4 last week. This is a picture of me (I’m the Boxer) and my best pal (after dad of course :-)). He’s called Bear and he’s 2. Sadly I’ve got cancer and it can’t be fixed. Its called adenocarcinoma and it started in my nose so sometimes its hard for me to breath and I get stuff running out my nose a lot. Dad says I’m a brave big boy because I don’t complain or mope around. I love playing with my dad or with Bear and i LOVVVVE playing with my ball! I could just run and run and run with my ball all day long. I don’t let cancer ruin my playtime. I’m just going to keep my chin up and get on with my life until dad and me need to make a decision to separate. He’s told me that he will be sad when I leave him (he’s only got me), but he’s promised that when he thinks about me that he’ll think about all the good stuff we did together so that he smiles.
Its always just been me and dad. When he came to see me for the 1st time I just walked right into the room, pushed my brothers out the way and bit dad on the finger! He just laughed and said “your the boy for me”. Where we use to live everyone had dogs so I always had lots of pals. We all use to meet at night and at the weekend and go chasing rabbits and deer in the woods. It was real good fun. I caught my 1st rabbit when I was only 4 months old. Dad made me let it go so it could go back to its mum and dad.
We moved house about a year ago and the new place is cool. I’ve got a my own house in a big garden and I liked lying in the sun during the day last summer, I hope that I get the chance to do it again this year. If I don’t it’s kind of ok because dad’s told me about the place I’m going to. He said that it’s sunny all day and that it’s full of other dogs that all just want to be your friend and play at ‘chase’,’catch’ and wrestling all day. There’s a big river that I can play in too. I only found out that I love water last year! It’s the best fun!
I’m going to go know but it has been nice speaking to you. I hope I haven’t made anyone sad, don’t be. Dad has told me about all the dogs in the world that don’t get to enjoy life the way I have because of bad people. I’m grateful for all the fun I’ve had, the toys I’ve had, the treats I’ve had and all the love that my extended family and dad’s friends have given me. Its been a blast!
