Who knew life could be so good in the US. I was born in Puerto Rico on a little know beach called Dead Dog Beach. You think of PR and the blue water and white sand beach, which it is, but my life their was very different. Not many people know about this beach, but I can tell you first hand. It is a horrible place. People leave dogs and puppies here they no longer want and many end up dead and they just leave them to rot on this beach. Many dogs do not make it, but I was one of the fortunate ones who did. A wonderful organization in PR The Sato Project hooks up with American based shelters in my case “Magnificent Mutts” to coordinate bringing me back to the US for adoption. I found my forever home in Illinois. It’s a bit colder than PR and they have white snow instead of white sand beaches, but I would NOT trade it for anything! I love my new family. They love and take such good care of me. Instead of sleeping on a beach infested with unlucky soul’s who might not make it – I have a warm loving home! I just wish all my friends could make it out of PR into a better home. It is no life for any living thing. People need to be made aware of this horrible place and help to end the suffering. Oh – by the way my name is Roxie….
