Woman In India Cares For 400 Stray Dogs

You think you’re a crazy dog lady? Well this woman in India definitely is one!

Her name is Pratima Devi; she’s 65 years old and she lives in a shanty in New Delhi, India. She doesn’t have much, but she’s taking care of 400 stray dogs! Yup, you read that right 400!!

120 of those dogs live with her in her tarpaulin-covered shed. She used to have a tea stall, but it was destroyed. After that, she started earning money by picking rags. Not only is she feeding the dogs, she also cleans them and gets them vaccinated.

Pratima also has a fellow dog-lover helping her care for the dogs. An 18-year-old boy named Vivek who lives nearby assists her in caring for the dogs.

Together they take care of the dogs, giving them breakfast at 6 in the morning, lunch at 12 noon, and dinner at around 11 at night.

Watch the video below for the full story!

Pratima has rebuilt the stall and she’s getting help through donations. We admire Pratima and Vivek for everything they have done to help these dogs. But we hope that an organization would step in and help Pratima and her dogs. The dogs need better nutrition and they also need to be neutered.
