No matter where you live, whether in a big city or a tiny town, we all have our favorite spots, our go-to place for a day of relaxation or physical activity or socializing with friends. Well, it turns out some dogs do too, and they don’t always feel like waiting for their owners to escort them there!

The very independent cutie you’re about to meet in this video is a Black Lab/Mastiff mix from Seattle named Eclipse. His favorite place in town is the local dog park; no shock there, right? Right, except that…wait for it…Eclipse regularly rides the public bus by himself to get to his beloved neighborhood hangout! Take a second to let that sink in. A dog. On a bus. By himself. All the time.

It’s a hilarious, downright adorable thought, sure, but also pretty confusing! Let us explain: Eclipse has a caring owner with whom he’s been to the dog park many times. The two of them used to take the bus together, but when his owner started lagging behind to smoke a cigarette, Eclipse, being the brilliant pup he is, took matters into his own hands paws. He memorized the bus route to the dog park, and began patiently getting on and off whenever he wants to go for a park visit…by himself! Pretty wild, right? Perhaps the best part of this video is the reactions from fellow bus riders, who clearly love having a furry friend join them on what would otherwise be a pretty boring commute. Can you blame them? Look at that sweet face!

Well, it’s official: Eclipse has better directional skills than most humans I know.
How would you react if you were riding a city bus and a friendly dog hopped on and sat down next to you? Let us know in the comments below!

One idea? Give the clever pup a quick belly rub! After all, he did get on a bus all by himself…he earned it.
