After The Odds Were Against Them, Two Bonded Dogs Are Bound Together Forever!

Life isn’t easy for a shelter animal. Many who enter never leave, and some wait days upon days without even so much as a single lead on a forever home. Zeus and Abbey are two former shelter dogs who know exactly what that life feels like.

Abbey spent 800 days in the shelter at Speranza Animal Rescue just hoping to find a family that would give her a loving home. Abbey was not naturally trusting of humans, after suffering physical abuse by a cruel human who was undeserving of her love.

Then one day, Zeus came to that same shelter: another broken down dog that was weary and afraid after suffering a life of cruelty and hardship. Poor Zeus had suffered so badly that he’d lost an eye, and was timid and shy–especially around new people.

One day the two had the chance to meet, and instantly something was different. These two dogs, alone and heartbroken, were like new dogs when they were around each other. Abbey and Zeus needed each other to be strong, and formed a bond that others couldn’t help but notice. In order to keep them happy, the shelter hoped for a miracle that these two pit bulls would be adopted out–together.

Then, by fate, everything changed for the better when a miracle came their way. Almost a year ago just before Christmas in 2014, the Morretti family fell madly in love with both Zeus and Abbey and adopted them together!

Now, one year later, these two pups are getting the grand finale to their happy ending–they’re getting married! (Well, they did get married–hence the photos!)

On November 29, 2015, Abbey and Zeus said their “I wuv you’s” at an alter with their humans standing by. It was a beautiful memory for everyone–and they caught the magic all on camera… You’re gonna wanna see this! It’s just so sweet:)
