In a bevy of languages, the name ‘Kai’ speaks of a powerful being destined for greatness. And when the animal lovers of 9 Lives Rescue Oklahoma in Hinton, OK, first saw a sick, thin Shepherd mix who’d spent months in the pound, they saw the spark in his handsome face and knew this name belonged to him. But things weren’t looking good for Kai as he would soon be at risk for euthanasia, a fate so many unwanted animals face.

9 Lives was already full of cats and dogs in need, but they couldn’t turn away from Kai. And shelter staff were so excited to find a new life for Kai, they met 9 Lives staff halfway to help send the good boy on his way to happiness.
