Dogs can be some of the best teachers in life. They teach us to love. They teach us to forgive. And they teach us to live each moment in the present.

The image was originally posted on Reddit. Rumor has it that the photo was taken on a beach somewhere in Australia. The note reads, “In loving memory of Phoebe – Please help yourself to a tennis ball for your dog to enjoy. You may wish to pop it back in the box afterwards for another pooch to enjoy. Remember to live each moment just like your dog: with unconditional love, loyalty, and happiness.”

What an amazing dog Phoebe must have been!

This reminds us of the story of the man who sent tennis balls to strangers so they could enjoy time with their dogs, in honor of his dog who’d passed.

Losing a pet is one of the hardest things to endure in life. If you have a companion who’s crossed the Rainbow Bridge, did you commemorate him / her in some special way?
