Marcela with Mascotas Coyoacá Rescue came upon a dog tied to a bench with a note beside him. The note was placed with a rock on top of it so it wouldn’t blow away. The note said that the dog needed a new home and asked for an adopter to take him in. The author of the note added that he was not properly taken care of. It hurt to let him go, but the family mistreated him, and seeing him that way hurt more. The note’s author added, “If you’re reading this and your heart wavers, please adopt him and take good care of him. If not please leave the note in its place. That way others can read it and adopt him.”
The dog was fearful and every sudden move made him jump. He had been through a lot and it broke Marcela’s heart. Amazingly, once Marcela led him away from the bench and introduced him to the park’s surroundings, something magical happened. Marcela sat on the ground and the dog just melted into her lap, playfully wagging his tail. She says, in the video below, “He was disarming in my arms.”
The Dodo shared the dog’s rescue story on their YouTube channel, website, and Facebook page. Being that they have a large audience and the pup, now named Boston, is so special, they were sure he had found a home quickly. But now it’s three years later and Boston is still without a family. The Dodo producer, Bill, decided to make a new video about Boston and ‘reintroduce him to the world.’ Bill called Marcela on video chat to discuss Boston’s situation.
Boston currently lives in a foster home with 15 other animals. Marcela promises Bill that he’s well taken care of despite the crowded foster home. She also added that he had two failed adoptions. Marcela shared, “Three years after we found him on the bench, we returned to the same bench to celebrate his rescue birthday and assure him he’s no longer going to be on the streets ever again.”
