Bertram, a Pomeranian, encountered a difficult beginning in life when breeders abandoned him at five months old for being too large to sell. However, his fortunes changed when Kathy Grayson, an artist, came across his pictures online. Captivated by the endearing puppy, she felt an irresistible urge to bring him into her life, transforming his fate from uncertainty to a loving home.

The artist called up the rescue group and asked if Bertram was still available. When they confirmed that he was, Kathy made her way to the Oklahoma shelter.
