Mine was diabetic so we had prescriptions from the vet for Royal Canin. Lots of options if I remember correctly. Kind of spendy though.

Mack (RIP) had dry skin /allergies. He was scratching all the time. It all went away when I started putting coconut oil in his food. About a teaspoon each meal. We fed him mid range quality food from the supermarket. Nothing fancy.

My corgi is allergic to all animal protein so she’s on a prescribed food of royal canin hydrolyzed protein. She no longer throws up after every meal and her coat is extremely soft, fluffy, and shiny.

Our corgi was diagnosed with a chicken allergy. Vet suggested hydrolyzed protein dog food. Lucy loves all food, fruit, veggies so filling out her food is easy. Chicken appears in almost ALL dog food. I will have to try the coconut oil in her food as well as suggested.

I make Reggie homemade food from venison harvested on our land. I mix with organic sweet potatoes, brown rice, green peas, carrots and a raw egg. Kept refrigerated. His coat is shiny , eyes are bright, and no more hot spots from chewing and itching. (we think it’s by products and chicken meat he’s allergic to, though he tolerates fresh eggs). All organic.

I make our Corgi’s food from fresh chicken breast or thigh and no salt green beans. I add other vegies and fruit too, like no salt canned sweet potatoes, carrots, beets, peas, etc and blueberries, strawberries etc. We also give a very high quality vet approved vitamin/mineral supplement.
