3 Things Your Poodle Loves More Than Anything

| May 9, 2017

Poodles are highly intelligent – this we know – so it should come as no surprise that they have definite opinions on things they like and dislike. Knowing what your Poodle loves gives you options when it comes time to reward them for training, or just because you want to say “I love you.” The following are three things most Poodles love more than anything.

#1 – Attention

Poodles can become quite the nuisance barkers if left alone too often. But, loving attention is a good thing because it makes rewarding easy – after all, even if there are no treats in sight, you can reward your Poodle with some love and they will be just as happy.

#2 – A job

Not only are Poodles smart, but they are a hunting dog, bred to be out all day. This means they have a lot of energy and they like to do something. You can do agility, obedience, or even hunting with yours to provide mental stimulation and keep him happy.

#3 – Water

Since the Standard Poodles were bred for retrieving ducks, they love water. Their miniature counterparts may not be as big of a fan, though many of them also enjoy splashing around. In the summer, you can set up a kiddy pool or a sprinkler to give your Poodle something fun to do. Tossing toys in the water for her to retrieve is even better!
