Our 3 year old Beagle has a skin itch that is being treated with cortisone tablets and cream. I’m very concerned of the long term affect this will have on her. We have tried changing her diet to grain free, all seafood dry food it didn’t make any difference. Our Vet thinks it may be something in our garden. Any body I the community with the same issues I would love to hear your thoughts.

My dogs are on Lamaderm, and one has allergies, and a lot of reviews (check them out) say it’s good for dogs with allergies, you can mainly get it at Walmart otherwise you have to order in online.

Our beagle has done the same thing, since he was a few months old. The vet said it was allergies, and prescribed an essential fatty shampoo (soap free, by anmPHARM).
It has not cured it 100%, but has helped tremendously.

It could be allergies but possibly fungal. Cortisone and allergy pills didn’t provide any relief for my beagle and cortisone can increase the symptoms if it is fungal. My vet has given me ketoconazole, which worked great. I also changed his diet to grain free and limited ingredient. His food only has a single source of protein which had to.be a protein he’s never had. He’s been itch free for a year and a half.
