Lump on paw pad of 9 year old male Staffordshire bull

Heya all. First time on here, have a 8 year old
Staffie who has always been licking and nibbling
His front paws, I was told it was just sensitive
Paws ….. But noticed a couple of days ago that a
Lump is after forming on his pad and shoulder seems to be giving trouble on the same leg… I will be taking him to the vet on Monday.. But just want to know if its a common ailment
