My yorkie likes the dog safe toothpaste, then again she likes everything. She chews on the toothbrush and does it herself. It is really like a treat to her since most pet stores have flavored kinds.

Hello Vivian, I hope you get to read this …. First of all, most bad breath is caused by bacteria, that means that a build up plaque has happened. ( I am a retired dental nurse). …. My Yorkie Tilly, had the most awful bad breath and we tried all sorts of remedies to try and sort it out. … We have two little girls, Tilly, our Yorkie, and Honey, our Yorkie/Maltese cross, who didn’t have a problem. The problem resolved purely by chance as a side effect of the change of their diet. We decided, after much research, to ‘Go Raw’ …. So they have fresh meat and vegetables every day now and raw meaty beef bones about 4 inches long that my butcher breaks up for me twice a week…. Well, within three days Tilly’s doggie breath had completely gone …. I mean completely…. also about a month later we checked her teeth properly and the black stains had all but disappeared too … I truly cannot recommend this diet high enough …. Also we used to have poo problems with the girls ie: loose stools for one and constipation for the other…. Another problem sorted …. It takes an extra 2 minutes a day to prepare their food and obviously extra vigilance in cleaning bowls for hygiene … but all so very very very worth it…. Veronica
