My dog has the same issues. We use an oatmeal pet shampoo and started giving her the Pets Alive! supplement that is available through Gardens Alive! It seems to have helped her a lot. I don’t see her itching nearly as often and the dandruff has practically gone away. Her fur is nice and shiny, softer and seems a bit thicker. She’s still balding around her belly and head but the other fur isn’t as thin.

Mine had the same problems. Here is what I did that has really helped. Not certain if it was one thing or combination of all, but there has been a world of difference for him.
1. Get grain out of her diet. Apparently, Boston’s are sensitive to corn and wheat. She might be allergic. I put him on Dick Van Patten’s Salmon & Sweet Potato. Which leads to my next point…
2. Get her on Omega 3 and Omega 6 supplements. Fish oil helps their skin and coat a great deal. I use the I Heart Dog’s supplements but as long as they’re getting the oil, that’s what matters.
3. My vet recommended Zyrtec. This may or may not be Chloe’s problem, but Bernie was having a lot of allergy issues that seemed to be compounding the skin problems. Vet recommended half of a 24 hour pill every 12 hours. All of these things have done wonder for Bernie. Hope this helps.

I had the same issue with my dog and I took her to the vet.. they did skin scrapings and blood work and could never find out what was wrong. I was told to remove grain and bought other expensive lotions and products.. they helped but not much. One day I read online about coconut oil.. I slathered it on my dog and also fed her a little.. it completely cleared up in a couple of days.. came bak again one more time and I treated her again. And now it’s been almost a year since she has had the issue.. and it was bad.. she would scratch and chew at herself til she had no hair left.. I promise coconut oil will help!
