Hi Everyone, This is Ringo, I got him when He was 3 years old, he is 4 now. I think he is what a beagle is supposed to be, energetic curious kind and a loot more. The only problem I have with him is that whenever he gets in the car it loose it, barks all trip long, he gets very anxious. I I tried already giving him treats whenever he is quiet and I try to let him know that everything is ok but its not working.

Do you guys have any ideas on what can I do to fix this behaviour?

Try going to a health shop or homeopathic shop and get some Rescue Remedy. 3-4 drops but only once he gets anxious. If he won’t “take” the drops then spread the remedy around his muzzle and he will lick them off

Coming from a beagle owner, beagles are hunting hounds and tend to love running around outside and barking. When you put them in a car they look out and see all of the places they want to go and play at. I suggest taking a “bubble” toy with peanut butter in the hollowed end and if you want to go the extra mile consider putting a treat underneath the P.B so it’ll distract and soothe that urge to bark and go crazy in the car.

My beagle pup loves the car as he goes everywhere with me so I don’t have this prob. But I do know when I was first training him at 9-11wks he was quit nervous in the car. So I’d have my husband drive while I held and pet my beagle. Maybe try doing this and having someone go along to hold and pet your beagle or drive while you do. It will calm him and show him the car is an ok place.
