Back in June if 2011 jayda came into my life. Jayda wasn’t always this happy or even healthy. The night I brought jayda home I knew something was seriously wrong. At first look I thought she was just a sleepy puppy, but boy was I wrong. At what I thought to be a 8 week old puppy exhausted from all the excitement and fear of being seoerated from her family was not at all what was going on. As the night went on, I could see her getting worse with time. Around 3am jayda was unable to hold her own head up or even keep her eyes open. I remember watching the clock go by, which seemed like a lifetime so I could call my vet as soon as they opened the next morning. At 8am I was on the phone with my vets office explaining to them my concerns. They told me to bring her in right NOW! getting to the vets office and barley getting through the door one of the vet tech’s grabbed jayda out of my arms and took off running to the back with her. After filling out paper work I was taken to the back where the vet was looking over jayda. I was informed that the prognosis didn’t look good. They did blood work and after taking the blood my heart sank, I knee it wasn’t good and I was losing hope. The blood they pulled from her neck was clear as water. After the tests were done they found she had a severe case of hookworms. The vet came back in the room and told us what was going on. The vet had a troubled look on his face and told us he is very sorry to tell us this, but right now this puppy is trying to die. He told us he would do whatever we want and that her chance of pulling through was a 30% chance. We chose the only choice we felt we had and that was we have to save this puppy! After 2 days in a incubator we finally got to bring our “4” not 8 like we were told but 4 week puppy home! This is our girl almost 5 years later!
