My basset hound bitch is 9 months old now and still just goes to the toilet anywhere she feels like, tried everything, treats, scolding, puppy pads and newspaper, really stumped please help. First time basset hound owner, never had trouble like this with other dogs.

FIrst, Bassets are very stubborn. I would suggest. putting her on a leash, so you can watch her. Also, females do mark a lot, mine does. Set an alarm for every hour, take her out regardless of if she has to go or not. Then slowly set the time a bit longer and a bit longer. By being on the leash, you can watch her, if she starts to go, then get her right outside and praise her. You have to be very consistent.
