Does Anyone Have An Opinion On Feeding a Senior Dog?

Food for a senior dog depends on the food itself. Some companies have been known to package their standard formula in bag marked “For Seniors” and simply charge more for it. You’ll need to pay attention to the ingredients and their percentages. Senior dogs generally need a little more protein than median-aged adult dogs.

I adopted a senior dog a few months ago and have been feeding him Verus’ Cold Water Fish formula. It has 24% protein. He has a lot of energy for a 10 year old big dog.

One of my dogs is 11 – going-on- 12. I’m feeding her VeRUS dog food, too. She gets their Opticoat formula and she’s doing really, really well on it. I contacted VeRUS a while back when I wanted to switch from homemade dog food to dry kibble. I got a great response from the company and they asked questions about my dog.
