I have puppy 7 week old. His name is Leo. He is healthy but he do not wont to go outside.
I’m trying to teach him to go out when there is the need to urinate or s**t.
when I open the front door he went to his bed and lay down.
What to do? how to teach him to go outside?
We recently adopted a 6 year old shelter dog who is the same way! I can’t say I blame him, as we live in New England and it’s pretty chilly out there these days! We end up having to carry him outside, wait until he does his business, and then lots of praise and a treat. (I’m a believer that treats can help with most things when it comes to dogs, lol!) Good luck!
The two best times to take a puppy outside to do their business is when they wake up, either in the morning or after a nap, and when they have finished eating. Pick the puppy up and take it outside. Wait until it does its business then give it lots of praise, pats on the head and even a treat. It won’t take long and the puppy will understand what you want it to do. It is also a fairly young puppy so have patience. Training takes time but it is so worth it to have a well behaved dog!
