Lux the 6-month-old puppy already faced more than enough pain for a lifetime. His human tortured him to the point where he thought his life was over, but then, the Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue saved the day. They rescued the pup and took him away from his abusive human.
Poor Lux had broken bones and fractures all over his body. And on top of everything, his human had tried to throw him into a river after hurting him! Thankfully, this heartless human is being punished for her actions, but Lux still has a lot of healing to do before his happily ever after.
One Puppy’s Tragedy
Lux’s human badly beat him, breaking his back two legs and fracturing his skull. It’s reported that his front leg was also broken at one point, but it didn’t heal properly. While Lux was at his lowest point, his human beat him and attempted to throw him into the Macomb County River in Michigan. With so many injuries, the puppy would have likely drowned if help wasn’t on the way.
Police and detectives came to the scene just in time. They stopped the suspect from further harm and took the puppy into custody. Lux was rushed to a vet for immediate medical care, which consisted of multiple surgeries.
“The puppy is currently receiving medical care and it has been determined that he was subjected to horrific abuse over an extended period of time which resulted in multiple breaks and fractures, both old and new to his legs, a fractured skull, and contusions to his head,” the Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue wrote on Facebook. “These injuries will require multiple surgeries to repair, however he is expected to make a full recovery.”
Lux has also been placed in a loving foster home, where he will be given time to fully heal. He will not be up for adoption until his injuries have been fully assessed.
Justice for Lux
Lux’s abuser is identified as a woman named Amber Sunde. Thankfully, the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office has authorized charges against her for this unforgivable act. She was charged with one count of third-degree animal torture, which is a four-year felony.
Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue will continue to post updates as Lux recovers. It’s possible that they might have to amputate one of his legs, but they will do everything they can to avoid that. They just want his recovery process to be as quick and easy for him as possible. Then, he can go on to find the loving home he truly deserves.
