Laura adores her Corgi named Buttercup. Buttercup is sweet and loving and never lets her disability get the best of her. When she was three years old, a disc ruptured in her back. She was taken to the vet immediately and needed surgery.
After surgery, Buttercup still struggled to walk. The vet ran more tests and it was determined that she had severe hip dysplasia. Laura was told that Buttercup would never walk again. Soon after, Buttercup received her wheelchair. With her new wheels, she’s able to play and run like the wind! Buttercup has also taught herself how to scoot about without her wheels. She’s certainly a warrior!
The vet assured Laura that Buttercup isn’t in pain– and it was obvious to Laura that she’s one happy girl! The family accepted Buttercup and her disability but then the dog completely blew her family away! Laura’s daughter was having her senior portraits taken and Buttercup was requested to be there. Buttercup, in the midst of all the excitement, walked to her human sister! No wheelchair, no scooting, just a Corgi on all four legs!
You’ll never guess what happens next. Buttercup is such an inspiration. She has taught her mom, who considers herself a worrier, to live every day to the fullest! Buttercup has defied the odds and we absolutely adore her! You will too.
