Dog Crashes A Semi-Truck When He Takes Over The Wheel

| March 5, 2016

It was a strange sight when an unmanned semi-truck crashed into a tree and a parked car at a Kwik Trip gas station in Mankato, Minnesota.

It was even stranger when a Labrador Retriever appeared in the driver’s side window.

When the driver of this big rig left his truck idling and walked into a store, he had no idea that his co-pilot would cause so much trouble. The drive-happy doggy must have knocked the truck into gear, and unfortunately, he did not know how to steer.

A brave bystander hopped into the truck’s cab, unsure of what he’d find–until he discovered the dog panting back at him. Luckily, he was able to put the truck into park before it could cause any more damage.

In a news story by Fox 9, bystander Marie Brace, who captured the widely-circulated photo of the dog in the driver’s side window, explains that the Lab showed no signs of apology for the damage he’d cause. In fact, after the incident, the pup resumed his happy, playful manner, completely unfazed.

The semi has been removed from service. Mankato police are continuing their investigation, but so far, no citations have been issued.

It is truly a miracle that no pups or people were hurt in this accident. Now let’s hope that this pooch stays in the passenger seat from now on!
