Finn, a dog who was once a victim of severe abuse and neglect, has found a loving home and a new lease on life. He was one of 36 dogs discovered in a horrifying case of animal cruelty, where he was found emaciated and covered in cigarette burns. Finn’s journey to recovery was a slow and challenging process, but in his new home, he has transformed into a happy, playful companion.

When Finn was first brought home, he was in terrible shape. He was extremely underweight, and his body was covered in cigarette burns. His immune system was so weak that he smelled of infection, requiring antibiotics to help him heal. Finn was initially very fearful and withdrawn and took two weeks to start acting like a normal dog.

Finn’s new family gave him plenty of space and time to heal, allowing him to lead the way in his recovery. They provided him with blankets, pillows, and a quiet bedroom to rest in while also taking him for walks and slowly bonding with him. At first, Finn would crawl deep into their laps, seeking comfort and protection from any potential harm.

Over time, Finn began to trust his new family and show his true personality. He is now a happy, clumsy, and affectionate dog who loves playing with his rescue Pit Bull sisters, Poe and Penny. Finn’s fear of water, likely stemming from being hosed as punishment, is another challenge he has had to overcome. However, with the love and support of his new family, he has been able to conquer this fear and enjoy life to the fullest.

Dogs like Finn require a special kind of understanding and patience, as they have experienced trauma that can make them challenging to care for. However, the bond that can be formed with these dogs is incredibly unique and rewarding. Finn’s new family is committed to giving him the best life possible, and he has become their best friend and a cherished member of their household.
