Hockey Meets Heart: Chicago Wolves Rally For Rescue Dogs With Exclusive Jerseys

| January 29, 2025

The Chicago Wolves hockey organization has long been a champion for dogs in need, and to start 2025 off on the right paw, they took their commitment to the next level. On January 18 and 19, the Wolves hosted one of their most impactful charitable initiatives yet at Allstate Arena—an Animal Adoption Awareness event that combined the thrill of hockey with the heartwarming mission of dog rescue.

In a powerful show of support for animal welfare, the Chicago Wolves took to the ice wearing exclusive Animal Adoption Awareness jerseys presented by Campfire Marshmallows. These one-of-a-kind jerseys not only highlighted the importance of pet adoption but also served as a crucial fundraising tool to benefit local shelters. Fans eager to own a piece of this special event had the opportunity to acquire the jerseys through blind and silent auctions, both online and at Allstate Arena. Proceeds went directly to Border Tails Rescue, Wright Way Rescue, Anderson Humane, and Chicago Wolves Charities, driven by Kia.

A Legacy of Rescue: The Wolves’ Adopt-A-Dog Program

The Wolves’ passion for animal welfare isn’t new. Through their long-running Adopt-A-Dog Program, the team has helped countless dogs find their forever homes. During one Saturday home game per month, the Wolves partner with local shelters to introduce adoptable dogs to their fans. The impact has been remarkable—over 1,800 dogs have been adopted through this initiative, with a record-breaking 27 adoptions in just the past month!

How You Can Still Help

As a community, we have the power to make a difference. Even though the Wolves’ Animal Adoption Awareness jerseys have been worn and auctioned for 2025, the need for support remains. If you missed the chance to participate, you can still help by donating to local shelters, sharing adoption stories, or even opening your home to a rescue dog.

The Chicago Wolves encourage all fans and animal lovers to continue supporting this meaningful initiative. While the jerseys have been auctioned off, the impact of this event will resonate far beyond the rink, contributing to a cause that has a lasting effect on the canine community worldwide. With the Chicago Wolves leading the charge, this past weekend was more than just a game—it was an opportunity to change lives. Help keep the momentum going by spreading the message, supporting local rescues, and being part of a team that plays with passion both on and off the ice. Follow the Chicago Wolves and keep up to date on all their animal rescue events and opportunities.
