Hershel was abandoned on the streets by the family who was supposed to love him. He faced a difficult journey to recovery after being hit by a car. The accident left him unable to use his back legs, and his future seemed uncertain.

When Hershel was first discovered by rescuer Tamara, he was in a terrible state. He had been left to fend for himself in an alleyway. He was hiding under a piece of plywood, horrified that the people he trusted most would leave him behind. While trying to get food and find shelter, he had been hit by a car, paralyzing his back legs. Despite the bleak outlook, Tamara knew she had to do whatever it took to help him walk again.

The first step in Hershel’s journey was surgery, but there was only a 10% chance of success. Despite the odds, Tamara decided to proceed with the operation. Unfortunately, Hershel showed no improvement initially after surgery, and it seemed as though amputation might be the only option.

However, Tamara and the team of caregivers refused to give up on him. They decided to wait and see if there was any chance of improvement. Just two days later, a physiotherapist called Tamara with incredible news: Hershel had moved his leg for the first time. This small success gave Tamara hope and the motivation to keep pushing forward.

The next step in Hershel’s recovery was water therapy, which would help him regain strength and mobility in both of his legs. It was a slow process, but eventually, Hershel began to show progress. He wiggled his tail for the first time and, to everyone’s amazement, started walking again.

Seeing Hershel walk was an incredibly special moment for Tamara. It had been a long and difficult road, but the woman’s dedication had paid off. Hershel’s future now looks bright, and Tamara hopes he will find a loving home where he can be cherished as much as he deserves.

Although Tamara wishes she could adopt Hershel, she already has 45 other rescues in need of loving homes. She is confident that he will find his forever family. Hershel’s transformation is proof that with faith and determination, anything is possible!
