Manny the Frenchie is headed to a city near you to benefit national and local charities across the United States. Sponsored by PetBox,the online retailer which delivers the highest quality pet products for dogs and cats, and DogVacay, the online community with more than 20,000 vetted and insured pet sitters across the US and Canada, Manny is making a tour of fifteen cities in his first national tour.
Who Is Manny?
Hailing from Chicago, Manny the Frenchie, is a French Bulldog with nearly 800,000 Facebook fans, over 600,000 Instagram followers and 20,000 Twitter followers.
Manny became a social media star when Huang’s hobby of posting adorable photos of his pet family on Instagram launched Manny to viral stardom. An initial following among the French Bulldog community generated attention from the BuzzFeed Community, while a subsequent appearance on The Steve Harvey Show made Manny a national sensation. Three years later, Manny has made appearances at NASCAR events, professional hockey and basketball games, as well as an onstage appearance on country music star Jason Aldean’s recent tour.
Manny himself is stoked about his tour! When asked, he said “I’m super excited to meet so many new friends across the country and what I’m most excited about, is to raise money for some great charities across the country.”
Why the tour?
“We have been getting so many requests across the world to meet me,” says Manny. “I figured why not meet all my awesome fans and also raise money at the same time. I could knock both of them out at the same time”
And if you know Manny, than you can probably guess what he had to bring with him from home. The two things he can’t live without he says?
“My bacon and jerky snacks!”
Of course Manny, of course.
The Tour
PetBox will host “pet playdates” and meet-and-greets for thousands of Manny fans in each city, allowing many of Manny’s fans and followers to meet him for the first time. All proceeds will benefit Save-A-Vet, a nonprofit organization that rescues military and law enforcement service animals who cannot be placed elsewhere, as well as provides housing and relief for the disabled veterans who help care for them. In addition, the campaign will support local charities at each city stop, such as Austin Dog Rescue, Duck Team 6 in Dallas and Good Karma Pet Rescue in Miami.
“PetBox has an ongoing commitment to giving back and is thrilled to power the Manny the Frenchie Tour,” says Sean Conlon, Co-Founder and CEO of PetBox. “Similar to our #PetBoxFridays campaign, which helps feed rescue pets across the country, ‘Manny the Frenchie on Tour’ will bring together our passionate community of pet parents to raise funds and awareness for Save-A-Vet, as well as 15 local charities.”
“DogVacay is thrilled to help bring Manny on his first national tour,” said Rachael King, Head of Communications at DogVacay. “Our community of tens of thousands of pet sitters will be attending the events across the country to meet Manny and support these important charitable causes.”
Jon Huang, Manny’s owner, considers Manny to be a canine “philanthropist”. “We are thrilled to team up with PetBox and DogVacay for Manny’s first national tour in support of such worthy causes,” says Huang. “We love the PetBox experience. Manny couldn’t be more excited when his bright blue PetBox arrives on our doorstep each month. The pet experts at PetBox make packing the best products for Manny and his brothers a piece of cake.”
“Whatever city we’re in, we have the piece of mind of knowing that DogVacay’s amazing dog sitters are ready to provide loving, reliable care,” added Huang.
