This Death Row Dog Only Needed One More Chance To Find Her Forever Home

| November 12, 2018

Part of each sale through the iHeartDogs store is donated to GreaterGood, which helps support various charities. Thanks to customers like you, happy endings, like the one below, are made possible.

In June 2016, police and animal control rescued Pippa from a nightmare situation in a Riverside County house. They discovered thirty-eight skeletal dogs in the home, ten were already dead. The other twenty-seven, including Pippa, were removed and taken by animal control to the San Jacinto Shelter and held as evidence. She was severely underweight and so sad.

In August after only a few weeks in the shelter, Pippa was placed on the list to be euthanized. The Shelter Transport and Animal Rescue Team leapt into action to collect signatures to keep her alive and buy her time until they could reach her. It worked, and in September of 2016 they were able to take her out. The Burgess family in Oregon adopted Pippa, giving her story the happy ending she deserved!

Two years later – Pippa’s life is truly a Cinderella story. She is very happy and very loved! She recently took a trip to the Oregon coast and was the major attraction!
