1 year old staff x rottie separation anxiety

I’ve had murphy since he was a pup he’s 1 now he’s been crate trained and never wrecked anything since moving house he’s wrecking everything he’s chewed the lino in the kitchen and he is now chewing the window sills aswell as trainers and things like that. Should I be crate training him again since I’ve moved? One of the reasons I tried him out of the cage is because he was howling and barking while he was in the cage. I don’t know what to do for the best. He’s not left all day only for a hour or so at a time. Please help.
