Barking.

Our guy is Rufus. And he barks at EVERYTHING! Even ghosts,lol Seriously, we have tried everything and just gave up. Meaning we still try to stop him when he barks but accept he will never have control over it.

I taught mine (I have 2) to use an inside voice using the Dog Whisperer approach it helps a lot but they do like to bark.

I asked a dog behaviorist that I trust, and after working on her training and exercise, he recommended trying a citronella spray anti bark collar. It works amazingly well. We only put it on her when we need her to be quiet ( I work from home, so when I am on calls i put the collar on, and late at night when we are ready for bed). After the first couple of times, she learned that she needs to be quiet when the collar is on her, so much so that I don’t even have to turn on the spray most of the time. During the day, if we don’t need her to be quite, we take the collar off and she is free to get her “bark on”. And if she is warn out from a really busy active day, she doesn’t need it at night at all. I have even gotten a second collar for one of my other dogs that gets anxious and barks if the wind blows too hard, and she has stopped as well!
