My boy loves Butternut Box, so that’s what he would recommend…but every hound is different and I hope you find the right brand for your precious one.

I am not sure what your baby is eating right now but we had to switch for our baby when he turned 10 years old. Everything started making him sick and then our vet recommended this and he never threw up food again! He lived 2 months shy of turning 17! It was so worth the cost!! It was Purina Pro Plan the chicken and rice flavor I will try and share a picture!

Is your baby picky or having tummy issues? If it’s just picky, I’ve never seen a basset that didn’t like the burger type of food (yes, I checked with several vets and it’s fine nutritionally). If it’s tummy issues, chicken and rice seems to be what is easiest on the tummy. I know one lady who cooks this up fresh for her babies.

Taste of the wild…. with or without grains. I work in cardiology and I don’t buy that grain free causes cardiomyopathy. That is usually genetic or diet based… now if you are feeding high fat high cholesterol then sure maybe. I feed the pacific stream because of the high omega fatty oils. I have had all of my doggos on it for years. Started it because one has a chicken allergy and his brother didn’t do well with gluten and it also eliminated a lot of the sebaceous cysts he would get.
