Hi! I’ve had really good luck with VeRus dog food. They’ve been in business for more than 20 years and haven’t had a recall AND their dry food doesn’t stink. In fact, when we sampled their Life Advantage food, it had not discernible smell whatsoever. You can go to their website/contact page and request samples. They may write back via email and ask you questions to see if there is a specific issue you’re having before they send samples. The samples hold at least a cup of food. I ended up going with their Opticoat formula (which smells like FRESH fish) because my dogs are super itchy.
Check out their website – they are very nice people. http://www.veruspetfoods.com/

      Hi Joan!
What food did you end up trying? I came on here hoping for answers as I wanted to start feeding a really good food that would keep my GSD going for as long as possible. With past sheps, summer has always been a time of misery, itching, and hot spots. I read what RescueMutt wrote about VeRUS & went to their website. I was really impressed by the info there so I contacted them and have since started feeding VeRUS to my newest shepherd. He’s doing GREAT! No itching. NO HOT SPOTS! I’m so excited!
The lady from VeRUS who contacted me was SO HELPFUL! One of the best parts is that I get the food auto-delivered so I don’t have to worry about running out and having to go get it. Totally fantastic!

(https://www.actijoy.com/blogs/news/10-best-natural-dog-foods?utm_source=iHeartDog&utm_medium=blog&utm_campaign=10-best-natural-dog-foods) (sorry, html won’t show up, look up natural dog food)

Try any of these. Switching to natural was a huge change in my dog’s health. Less shedding, more energy…
I started with Wysong, then switched to Orijen. All of those should be fine though 🙂
