Best food for a Cocker Spaniel

Natural Balance Limited Ingredients. My Cocker eats it so it must be good-he doesn’t like anything.

My 16yr old boy had been on Royal Canine since he started solids. He is still being his usual self just a bit slower at 16yr 3 mo.

It’s easy to make your dog’s food yourself. It’s less expensive and most importantly healthier for your dog. I use organic boneless, skinless chicken breast, (5-6), one tub of chicken livers, one bag of boiled minute rice, one can of organic pumpkin puree, 2 shredded carrots, one large bunch of parsley, chopped fine, one large head of broccoli, finely chopped, one small basket of blueberries, muddled. Two tablespoons turmeric, one tablespoon flax seed meal, two tablespoons eggshell powder. One cup of water. Crockpot on high for 6 hours. Chicken should easily shred. When I serve, about 3 tablespoons, I add one squirt of fish oil. This makes about 5 weeks of food. I freeze in pint freezer bags, about half full each. My dog loves it. No health/allergy issues. No chemicals or preservatives.

I use Perscription Hills Science Biome with chicken and rice main ingredients. I also give baked skinless chicken breast. I shred the pieces. My one Cocker Spaniel developed diarrhea issues. This is working out great!

My cocker spaniël now wants home cooked meals only. So chicken, with rice and vegetables.

I use fresh pet mixed with a small amount of kibbles & bitd.

Our boy Nick gets Ollie. It’s kinda pricey ($275. For 42 days) but he really loves it and he stays fit and trim. He was on farmers Dog but our vet requested we take him off it because it’s grain free. Good luck.

Buffalo salmon but don’t completely glucose free can do more harm. We have a cocker that had allergies.

Pet mince from the butchers, add veggies and a good gut probiotic. My girl is so healthy now.

Acana/Orijen are decent brands but they were sold to an American company last year so there may be changes coming. If money is not a concern I would suggest Smack dog food. It’s made in Winnipeg and is as good as it gets for dog food. I have been feeding it to my cockers for 5-6 years now.

Our Cocker Katie is so picky she doesn’t even like treats this is what we have been giving her and likes it we do add more chicken I bake skinless breast every 3 days and I know this brand isn’t not cheap I was going to order from Farmers Dog but that’s really expensive but don’t know what else to do and she needs to eat. Our first Cocker Bailey was a overweight she loved everything and our 2nd Gracie was a little more picky but not as bad as Katie she won’t even eat cheese or bacon as a treat I just shake my head 

I have a cocker with extensive food allergies and gets into a snit if she is fed something my other cockers aren’t eating exactly what she gets, oh and hydrolyzed foods are on her permanently given up for Lent list. After a year of searching, we found Earthborn roasted lamb with ancient grains and superfoods. As long as she eats that and doesn’t get hold of things like peanut butter or other things on her allergy list, she does quite well and my other cockers like this food too.
