My vet recommend that my bulldog have a minor procedure in which he would remove some of her lower skin, because her eyelashes were poking her eyes and irritating them, has anyone’s bulldog ever had this problem?

      Hi,

My bully had this surgery at 8 months old because as you said his eye lashes were poking and scratching his eye ball to the point it was causing scaring. The one suggestion I would give is use a opthamologist not just a general vet it may be more expensive however you don’t want to take a chance with the vision and with an opthamologist my bully had access to the ICU and specialized nursing in recovery as Bulldogs can have difficulty with the anesthesia given their pushed in noses. The surgery was short an hr and he came home same day and was sent home with pain meds (tramadol) and eye drops to lubricate the eyes. I did notice less discharge from his eyes after the surgery.

      Good luck
