We just adopted a rescue dog, a five year old Shepherd mix. He’s really sweet, but he won’t stop peeing in the house. We take him out like every two hours and praise him every time he pees. But about once or twice a week, he decides to pee on the wood floor or the carpet. We have cleaned it with Nature’s Miracle to get rid of the scent, but now we don’t know what to do. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
Some dogs simply need longer for house training than others, keep at it! It might be worth a try to restrict the dog’s access to the house until you trust him more with his peeing. You could try a crate, if you are comfortable with that or you can fence off a little part of your kitchen or living room. This will make it easier to keep an eye on the dog and they instinctively want to avoid peeing where they eat and sleep.
