My Husky is over 14 years old and I use a combination of Kirkland Salmon dry food (from Costco) and beef wet food.
She can’t eat chicken without getting skin irritation, but she does very well with salmon and beef.
Costco has very good quality food and is grain free.

Taste of the Wild. I use Wetlands (fowl) formula, & alternate between ancient grains & grain free.

I feed mine Pedigree High protein, with fresh chopped broccoli and chopped carrots and cheddar cheese. He loves it.

I have a Husky and a German Shepherd and they were having food allergies and not really at the weight I wanted them. I switched to Blue Wilderness, a bit pricey but so worth it, I get the 3 protein one amazing brand!

If your Husky has any medical conditions, check with your vet first. If they don’t, then Orijen is a great brand (expensive though). Weruva is a great wet food option.

I fed my Husky who had a grain allergy both of those brands, she lived to 17 years and a few months old. She was still playing around like a puppy right up until the end.

We used to feed our Siberian Husky Blue Wilderness. From puppy to 10 years old. Now I home make his food every 7 days. The price is pretty much the same. Maybe a little cheaper. SO worth it! We can tell a major difference in Saber. His teeth are better, No more upset tummies. He had to have grain free Blue Wilderness bc his stomach was so sensitive to the other kinds. Saber has more energy, i could go on. He’s just had an all around improvement in his health.

Hills Science Diet. My Husky has never had a problem with her health. She is 8. My other two dogs are also on it. Been using it forever.

I have mine on Iams and I’ve been pleasantly impressed. I checked to make sure there isn’t any tsp in it or other chemicals they put in dog food. It’s helped his coat a lot and he doesn’t seem to have any problems being on it.

The vet said Taste of the Wild is good food but Purina One is just as good, he said it’s totally up to us. My Husky was on the first one for years, then he stopped eating it and he’s been steady eating Purina One ever since.

My guy loved Authority from Pet’s Mart. Not the most expensive but he loved it.

Our Husky had digestive issues. Vet prescribed Science Diet Biome. Worked like a charm (to our surprise), and no more diarrhea or vomiting. It’s like we have a new healthy Husky.

This is always a loaded question. Here’s what I have learned from Pet Vet Corner. Avoid raw. No scientific studies have been done that end up supporting it as better for your dog. They are not wild animals. Plus there is a very real possibility of salmonella poisoning, not just for your dog but your family members, as well. Plenty of people will anecdotally say raw is the best but science doesn’t support that. Avoid anything grain free. It’s been linked to dilated cardiomyopathy, which is basically heart failure. Purina, Iams, Royal Canin, and Hills are the only ones that most vets will recommend. Reason is that these companies all have a board certified veterinarian nutritionist (a vet who did extra schooling on nutrition) on staff to create the recipes. This ensures it has everything a dog needs from a vitamin and nutrient standpoint.

Ultimately, I would check with your vet and discuss the reasonings for the need to switch. They are your best resource.

I cooked my Husky’s food. We tried everything but she had severe allergies so I found it cheaper to just get fresh vegetables from a wholesale and chicken boneless skinless thighs or whatever was on sale, just stay away from hamburger but cheap cuts of beef works.

Bil Jac frozen. I bred Huskies for 47 yrs. I started them on a drool as soon as their teeeth came & the ones I kept died at around 14/15 yrs. Old. Need to feed some hard kibble also for their teeth. Less stool, beautiful coats & healthy. Comes in 2 & 5 lb bags. Keep frozen til you want to start using then in frig.

Orijen is the absolute best!! We had 2 Huskies for 13 and 12 years, this was the diet they had for dry food. We did our research on everything Husky before we brought home our first. Look at their website and you will understand why they are the absolute best..
