Anyone know what I can do to get my male Yorkie to stop lifting his leg indoors? They have two “grass” patches, and he insists on lifting his leg on various objects in the house. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi there- my little Morkie (Maltese Yorkie mix) girl had been a hard one to train. My previous breeds all 4 were boys knew what to o and where- this small breed as many will peepee anywhere anytime. My remedy I’ve found to help (from Pinterest) is Vicks it it where you don’t want them. It does come in a rub like deodorant or liquid form
You can put it near the area in a big bowl or towel. That’s the 2d thing. The ODOR is there and it’s near impossible to get out; that’s why they go to the same spot it’s called MARKING. You must clean the items at least 2x with super duper pet grade cleaners. Rugs, floors, stools, couch locations- I experience that no Pet Store has any grade of urine odor cleaner. While Mrs Meyers makes one it isn’t going to solve the main issue.
The dog needs to NOT mark in the house. And I’ve taught Only in my yard (no pee or poop on walks, neighborhood because if they run away they use their nose to each place they’ve marked.
There are essential oils you can use to deter the animal from going. Or use baby gates (from FrontGate.com they are nice not cheap) to keep them iout of that area if it’s the main living area for guests. Or get an X-pen and they do pee/poop usually in their own den.
      Hope that helps. P
