Mom says I was sent from Heaven

My name is Scooby, but my mom calls me Scoobs. Mom always tells me I was sent from Heaven, but I’m not sure what that means.

Some really nice police officers found me alone in a building. They took me to an animal shelter, but all the dogs were really sick there. I started sneezing and coughing too within a day. Since I’m an older guy, I had a harder time getting better.

Thankfully, the nice people at DRU (Doberman Rescue Unlimted) came to get me out of the shelter, and brought me to the doctor. The doctors started giving me some medicine, but I was sicker than they thought. I couldn’t breathe, and my lungs were filled with fluid. The doctors weren’t sure that I’d make it. But I’m a fighter, and I got better.

Just when I thought life couldn’t get any more awesome, I was brought to the DRU shelter. It is Doberman Heaven! I had my own room, and my own person. My person took care of me, and made sure I had everything I needed at DRU, including blankies to suck. My person was really sad the day Mom came and picked me up, but she gave me a really nice fleece blankie that smelled like her.

I met Mom in the office at DRU, and Mom was so happy to see me. Mom started going through my paperwork with the adoption person, and saw that I had been picked up by DRU on her late husband’s birthday that year. Mom started crying, and I rushed to her side to comfort her. I already loved her so much, even though we had just met. I guess that’s why Mom says I was sent from Heaven.

I love my new house even more than I loved the DRU shelter. I’ve got a backyard to play in, walks to go on, and lots of blankies to call my own. She even lets me on the couch! I’m so thankful to have found a great Mom.
