Hachi is on tv tonight, but I won’t be watching it. I watched it once and even bought the DVD, but have never been able to bring myself to watch it again. It was too heartbreaking.

Or to a horse. After watching old yeller when I was a kid, I’ve never watched another one unless my husband has watched it first and assured me nothing happens. Someone insisted in giving me that Marley book even tho I said no. It went to the thrift store right away

I too saw Old Yeller as a chiLd. What a traumatic experience! After seeing it, I avoided animal movies for many years. And Bambi! Bambi’s mother getting killed gave me nightmares for a long time!

Wish I hadn’t seen The Adventures of Yellow Dog, still haunts me. My favorite book and movie is Where the Red Fern Grows. Truly made me appreciate the love for and between dogs when I was a young man. Stayed with me my whole life.

Y’all need to see “Arthur the King”. It’s based on a true story and has a happy ending. We saw it a couple of weeks ago. The dog lives and is a hero!

Old Yeller will never watch. Love the movie my Dog Skip but cry at the end and Skip had a good life.Marley and Me is sad and yet a good movie and Marley was well loved.Hatchi is fantastic but heartbreaking. Any movie when something happens to the animal is difficult to watch .I Am Legend is another movie that is sad because of the dog.I even want King Kong to live.He loved the girl and they brought him here to put on display.Just want them all to be ok.

Old Yeller. Three Lives of Thomasina. Bambi. If I know that happens, I cannot watch. Even the documentary, My Octopus Teacher.  The Octopus dies in the end. Can’t watch that again, and Born Free. I loved that movie but it’s too sad when they have to leave Ilsa in the wild to learn and when they have to leave her altogether.

I started watching Thank You For Your Service, until there was a scene with a dog fight and I immediately turned it off and never attempted to watch again.

Marley & me, old yeller, kujo, a dog’s purpose, LITERALLY any dog movie that has a dog death. I didn’t realize “I am legend” had a dog death and I cried so hard. I do love john wick movies though bc keanu reeves loves animals and a significant part is revenge for his dog

Old Yeller scarred me for life….I cried every night for weeks afterwards…..then again I was only 6. Now I stop watching a film if there is potential for the animal to die. No exceptions. We’ve had the war horse dvd in the cabinet since it was released, I’ve never seen it.
