One morning my 2 yo female rott-pit female got into it with my 6+ yo female rott. Now they want to “kill” each other on sight. It’s really hard to try and keep them apart and I want to get back to the peace it was. I had a trainer working with us but nothing has really changed. Tonight my husband let my little one in while the older one was loose. When we realized the error my husband grabbed the little one but the rott started to go after her when she realized the little one was in. I really don’t want to get gid of one over the other. They were both shelter dogs. Any ideas, suggestions?

I think they need their own time. Like even for human, we need some time apart after fight. Try to separate their routine as much as you can; dog-walking time, bath time, eating time(make sure they eat in separate places) and even when sleeping (make sure they don’t sleep together. Put them in separate rooms). If all of the stages does not work, two or three weeks of separation will be the healthiest way. My dogs used to fight like crazy, so I made my sister to take one for a month. And after a month, the two were much better. Do not think this of getting rid of your dog, it is rather a dog vacation!
