My basset is acting like himself very anxiety like

My basset hound max has been acting odd since the 4th of July. He did not like the fireworks the neighbors were shooting off he was scared and wanted to be held or hide. He was getting better, then about 3 days ago he got worse. He’s been hiding and very anxiety like. Is this normal for basset hounds? Idk what to do…he still gets excitedwhen we get the treats out tho so I don’t think he’s sick. Please let me know! Thanks you!!
