My dog of fours years suddenly wanted to hide in the closet, she was pawing at the closet door and she went in. Her behavior changed and she even wanted to attack me. My animal communicator told me she was unwell and she thought I was a stranger. It is weird and the way my dog looks at me now is not right, sometimes I feel that if I look any longer than that, she would attack me,hence I often turn my head off her direction. Has anyone had similar experiences before? Anyone can tell me why my dog behaves in such a way?

That sounds horrible to feel like your dog doesn’t recognize you! Have you tried asking the vet? We had a shih tzu with neurological problems and she acted something like this. I hope they would be able to give you a better answer on how to help. Good luck!

Has your dog recently (like last 6 months) had a rabies vaccination. If so, this is classic vaccinosis from the vaccine as ithe rabies vaccine actually in a lot of cases can give the dog the same symptoms of actual rabies disease. Google Dr Will Falconer Vital Animal News to learn about dog vaccines and vaccinosis. If possible to administer you could use Bach Flower Remedies For Dogs “Rescue Remedy.” Put 3-4 drops in water bowl or on food …. it’s for stressful situations. There are many other Bach Remedies which you can learn about via the search feature on your computer. There is a Bach Flower Remedy for KNOWN fears (Mimulus is its name) and one for Unknown fears (Vine is its name), Learn about all the Bach remedies for dogs (search on internet), you will not regret it,
Dr Falconer is a holistic animal veterinarian in Austin, TX. His website is invaluable and loaded with expert information.

Oh so sad!! My lab/retriever has a lot of aniexty due to being in the shelter for so long, but I’ve rescued him for 6 years now and he’s the best dog ever! No chewing, never accidentally peeing or pooping, nothing, very docile and a calm dog. The only problem I have is he’s very very afraid of rain thunder and lightning! I mean he shakes walks into walls, hides, pants I’m so afraid sometimes he’s going to have a heart attack. Nothing works for him, I have to leave him alone and let get threw it. But recently he doesn’t want to sleep in my bed or his bed, he wants the closet with the light on! If I shut the light off he barks. I’m confused as to this behavior. He’s 9 yrs old, very healthy other than this new “thing” I was always told if you start a staring contest with your dog don’t turn away first then he knows he’s in control. I do this with my scout and he turns away first lol good luck

No wonder your dog wants to hide in the closet, I bet the rest of your house looks even worse you slob. Poor dog is probably claustrophobic from the pigsty he/she lives in.
