Hi everyone my name is Venus. When I was born my momma had a very hard time. She pushed me away but I was determined and wiggled back to snuggle with her. She loved me after all! But my human mommy quickly figured out that I couldn’t drink milk from momma. We went to see a nice man and he gave mommy a sad look. He said I had a cleft palate which was a hole in the top of my mouth that went up into my nose. He called another man in to see and he quickly said he could fix it!! But mommy would have to bottle feed me and I needed to get to 3 lbs first. I was what they called a runt and was less than a pound. We started with an eye dropper to feed me until I was big enough. I got to eat every 2 hours day and night. Mommy sure was tired but she wouldn’t give up. She called me a fighter. I got to almost 3 lbs but wouldn’t get bigger. We did the first of 4 surgeries getting the hole smaller and smaller each time but being a boxer I had a lot of energy and kept blowing it open some each time. After the 4th surgery I was very scared because they completely closed the hole but I thought I couldn’t breathe. Mommy said no more after that. I was so happy!! Me and mommy figured out the best way to feed me and for me to drink water. I was told I was very smart and Very spoiled!! I am now 4 years old and me and the vets love to see each other still but I don’t get sick anymore. I learned how to live with my hole in my head haha! And mommy learned to not feed me rice or mashed potatoes cause I might sneeze it out my nose. I’m so very happy no one gave up on me!! I’m still spoiled by my 2 legged mom and she still calls me special. And I now have a very fun daddy and 2 sisters and 2 four legged brothers and a sister too! Whatever happens….never stop wiggle butting!! ❤️
