I am Slate and this is my girl Peyton. My mommy and daddy adopted me when i was 1 1/2 years old and I had spent nine moths of my life in the rescus, some say becausse I was deaf and nobody wanted me. I am deaf but so smart.
My mommy got pregnant in 2010 and I was so protective of her and my baby sister. It was a month and a half before my sister was supossed to be born and I knew something was wrong with Peyton. I jumped on mommy’s tummy to tell her something was wrong. Mommy went to the hospital and we found out that Peyton’s heart kept stopping. They took Peyton that day and said that she was alive because of me. From day one, Peyton and i were inseperable and continued to be that way til the day I had a tumor rupture last October. The last thing I did before going to the vet was give Peyton a kiss. I am happy and am with my big brother and sister, Buster and Madison at the Bridge. I love being here with all of the other pets and I can hear every bird sing and every frog croak but the most amazing thing that I hear almost every day is the sound of Peyton’s voice sending me kisses and telling me how much she loves and misses me!
