My staffy has become a fussy eater & will only be hand fed or standing near him

My 4 year old staffy has recently become very picky with his food and won’t eat anything on some days. He will take the food if I hand feed him but that’s something I don’t want to get into the habit of. He also will eat if I’m standing next to him but rarely eats on his own.
