Need help with 3 year old dog's anxiety

My dog Max is 3 years old. He was a rescue dachshund/chihuahua and we’ve had him for 2 years now. We also have a 10 year old pug named Lola that we have had since she was a puppy. Max has no health problems or history of aggression. He’s always been a very sweet, loving dog. When he came to us from the foster family, he was house and crate trained. He would willingly sleep in his crate at night and often went in there during the day just to chill out or nap. Recently we relocated from Arizona to North Carolina. My husband and I both work from home now, so we’re actually around the house a lot more than we used to be. Now, if we leave the house just for a few hours maybe to eat dinner or run errands, we put the dogs in their crates, and we put them in their crates to sleep at night. Aside from that, they roam free in the house all day. But since we moved, Max has been freaking out in his crate at night and if we leave the house, even for very brief periods. This is so out of character for him. He poops in the crate almost daily now (which he’d NEVER done before), cries, digs, tries to get out. He got himself so worked up the other night when we went out for dinner that he actually shredded and ate his entire bed and blanket, and then vomited in his crate. Lola is not experiencing any of these issues with the move. She has adapted easily. I recognize that he was a rescue and she was not, but prior to living with us, Max was with a very kind and dog-friendly foster family. He was never in an abusive situation or a shelter. We are completely at a loss as to how to help him. I know the move is a big change and likely what’s contributing to his anxiety and behavior. We just don’t know what to do.
