My dog is 2 yrs old. Goes pee pee outside but poops in the house. We spend a lot of time outside with her, she pees immediately and wants in the house. Need some help please.

Mine does the same thing and is also 2 years old. She will go to the door to go out to pee.. but when it comes to the other business.. she doesn’t care if she goes outside or inside.. majority of the time it’s inside. I’m cleaning poop off the floor almost every day… I don’t know what to do. She also has some anxiety about leaving the house. I can’t even the her for walks.. so frustrating to have such a beautiful dog and I can’t take her anywhere (I do take her to the groomers which she gets upset about but has to be done)

Maltese are very clingy. Try to carry your dog around the house or outside for a short walk, they’re like babies. If she is comfortable enough, made her walk to scent the surrounding. Also, monitor where she pee/poop. Gave her a certain pee/poo area.I train my baby to pee/poop outside or in mats. Mine likes to pee at our gate to let other dogs know its his house/territory hahaha

Our Maltese did the same thing around age of two, but how we got him to stop pooping inside we offered him his favorite treat if he pooped out side. Once he found he was getting “Good Boy” and a treat” now he does it out side. Very few times now he may have an accident if no ones. But he’s 100% better
