Should I adopt a dog that has a possible cruciate injury?

      Hello!
I have been looking for the perfect companion for the past 2 months now. A few weeks ago, I met a sweet 6 year old dog that had been rescued from Mexico. I had the chance to spend some time with her and walk her around. She seemed like everything I had been looking for…EXCEPT that she has a slight limp and can’t jump. The rescue organization had 2 different vets take a look and they found nothing wrong with her hips, but xrays showed bebe gun pellets lodged in her leg. They both agreed that surgery wasn’t necessary. They also mentioned that “we might be dealing with a cruciate injury” – something they didn’t see as a real cause of concern and that anti-inflammatories would help. I reached out to the adoptions director to see if I could get a more definitive answer on the dog’s diagnosis/prognosis but she said it wasn’t possible.

Does anyone have a similar experience that they can share? Is this a “wait and see” type of situation if I decide to adopt this dog?
